Hanoi is not only the ancient capital having several cultural heritages of Viet Nam but it also covers a number of green, clean and airy spaces. Among these places, there is a spot in the heart of the capital, which has both green trees and a large and green pond, it is Thu Le Park.
Thu Le Park is also known as Thu Le Zoo located in Thu Le village, an ancient village appeared in the Ly Dynasty attached with the accumulation of Linh Lan and Voi Phuc temple. The park is on Bach Thu Le around 5 kilometers North West of the Hanoi city center.
The park is a peninsula situated inside a large lake. To go through the park visitors must cross the bridge. Because the shape of the park is an oval-shaped piece of land and surrounded by a large lake, the people of Hanoi take the name of Thu Le to name the park, meaning to protect the precious green tear of capital.
Thu Le Park is considered Ha Noi Zoo and Bach Thao Garden. It is home for about 600 animals with over 100 different species on exhibition including 50 species of birds, 40 species of saltwater fish, 35 species of mammals and 5 species of amphibian reptiles. Among which, 40 species are listed in Vietnam Red Book and many are gifts from Europe, Africa, America and Australia. Some rare animals being preserved here are Indo-Chinese tigers, lions, clouded leopards, Siberian tigers, elephants, and hippos.
Besides, Thu Le Park with 29 hectares, it is an ideal place for walking tour since it is encompassed by lush green grasses and an exquisite collection of tree, small plants and flowers. Thanks to this, the park provides tourists relaxing glimpse as well as fresh air and the beautiful landscape. The site is also chosen by many photographers as the source of innovation.
In addition to sightseeing its scenery and animals, visitors might also attend more energetic outdoor activities in the park. The most interesting one should be swan boat driving along its 6 hectares lakes which you may have the most romantic time with your partners.
All children would yell out loud enthusiastically when their parents offer a visit to Thu Le Park because it is a fun park for kids and in here can be found a wide array of entertaining games like high speed train, bubble houses or rollerblading.
Thu Le Park is very easy to get only by travelling to the end of Kim Ma Road, right beside the renowned Hanoi Daewoo Hotel. The park can be approached by both of its gates, one on Kim Ma Street and the other on Buoi Road. Taxi and motorbike are the best types of transportation while ones may get there by catching the Ha Noi Bus No.9.
Thu Le is a complex of Green Park, zoo and amusement park. When people come to Thu Le Park, they can enjoy the landscaped surroundings as they visit the zoo.
The entrance ticket price is 10,000 VND because there are many wild animals so I feel that price is right, the game ranges from 20,000-60,000 VND/game.
The time opening Thu Le park is from 8:00 to 18:00
The ticket here is 10,000 VND for adults and 5,000 VND for kids
The comments of a visitor came here, she said that “Thu Le Park is quite big, there are many wild animals and many games. There are things like duck riding, crawling into balls and rolling on water, haunted houses, mirror houses, taking care of cotton and other children’s games. I see the most interesting game is the ball rolling on the water. However, the game require 2 people play without rhythm is not going far and turning right away. In the park there are also cars selling food and toys. Every time I go to the park like this, I get back to my childhood, I don’t know anything good, but when I was in love, I always loved it”.
Another comment is “I don’t like going to the zoo because I don’t support to keep the wild animals in a cage with a narrow space. In addition, some animals like hippos are not taken care of well, the smell of them is very bad”.
