The typical old house at 87 Ma May street (old quarter) is one of the few old houses in Hanoi built around the end of the 19th century and now preserved as points of interest and a Heritage House Hanoi, an exhibition providing information on the history of Hanoi. The total area of the house is 157.6m2, is constructed perpendicular to the street, the length of the land is 28m, the width of the front 5m and the width of the rear is 6m.

This heritage house, a very special house is a stunning example of the type of architecture that prevailed throughout Hanoi before the concrete egg-carton style took over. This is one of the few intact remains of an old-style home open to the public in Hanoi. You will see the typical architecture of old Hanoi as well as the lifestyle of the inhabitants.
